Meno and Mind Newsletter – June 2024

Hi all,

Menopause and Mind Newsletter 2024

Hope you are all doing as well as can be on your transformational journeys, a reminder we are always adding to our toolkit if you are needing to find some reassurance or advice!

A quick note to say there is still one place left at our Mindful Felting event tomorrow. Sign up here if you are interested!

Here are some top tips from attendees at our latest Inner Kindness workshop…

There is also loads of info if you want it on our previous Inner Kindness Blog – https://menoandmind.org/2023/11/25/practicing-inner-kindness-workshop/

I also did a podcast interview with some tech issues at the end of a week of conference chaos – well worth following Diva Magazine online and their Relationship Room podcast room, which covers loads of menopause and related subjects! You might also want to check out Sally Garozzo’s Menopause Mindset podcast.

After the felting event this week, we will be taking a break until August due to self-care and travels, but there are a few other events you might be interested in before we come back!

Firstly, you may have heard me talk about Drum and Bass Kick-boxing, I found this really powerful during the start of my peri-menopause; it has recently rebranded as BOXE, and you can get a free trial here if you are in Brighton: https://www.fightklub.co.uk/brighton-free-trial/ They also do sessions in different parts of the country, it’s really accessible and there’s no judgement if you can’t keep up with left and right instructions, such a lovely crowd!

Several workshops are running called Reconnect, which aims to Reconnect people with their life purpose and each other. There are a series of Gardening sessions which include tours by a local gardener around local gardens in Hove (Cornerstone Garden and St Ann’s Well) where you can learn about the local foliage and get some peace connecting with nature! There is also a workshop on gardening in containers if, like me, you don’t have a garden! Free tickets here.

I am also running a workshop in August on Utopia in the Everyday – Finding Hope in Dark Times, it is not specifically focused on Menopause it is a participatory workshop, that uses creative activities to explore play, collective daydreaming, and untold stories of past and present change. Together, we’ll reimagine utopia as an ongoing process, uncover practical possibilities within our current limitations, and discover how to make both big and small changes in the world.

I will be back in touch soon with more Menopause and Mind events and some exciting guest facilitators! If anyone is keen to organise any catch-ups over July while I am away, please get in touch, and I can arrange for a mail-out and Eventbrite set-up.

For those of you info geeks, then we are getting a lot of readership on our “I Suffer i Silence” research and I’ll be in touch with some updates on how we can feed into the NHS changes that are afoot in Sussex.

Warmest wishes,

Heather
